Hop Islands Cheap

That’s correct, Old School Tactical Vol III The Pacific is on sale for a limited time, allowing you to replicate the American’s island-hopping strategy at a discount. Click here to get yours.

Old School Tactical (OST) Vol III brings the popular OST system to the Pacific Theater of World War II. Fight in the jungles and on the beaches against both the Imperial Japanese Army and Naval (Marine) units.

The Japanese come with the new tank-killer units and, of course, rules for the famous Banzai attack. The Americans answer with canister rounds for their Stuart tank, the famed Marine firepower and discipline, and plenty of armor and artillery support.

The game ships with 16 scenarios, including Alligator Creek (Henderson Field),Edson’s Ridge (Guadalcanal),In the Coconut Grove (Bougainville), First Clash (Guadalcanal), and more. New units include Chi-Ha and Ha-Go tanks, Japanese Sappers, Type 99 LMG, Type 92 HMG, Type 89 Mortar, and more. On the American side there are LVTs, flamethrower tanks, Marine rifle units, Army rifle units, 37mm ATG (yeah, it fires canister), to name just a few. Click here for more information.

More Fun in the Pacific Sun

If you want more Pacific Theater, squad-level action, you should check out the latest game released by our sister company, Tiny Battle Publishing, Scream, Aim, Fire Pacific.

Scream, Aim, Fire Pacific! is a solo tactical game of squad-level combat set in the pacific theatre of WWII. The player takes the part of American infantry and armor pushing inland to take objectives, using a dice-roll action system that gives you a guaranteed number of actions each round, but not always of the exact type you need. A card-driven action system manages the Japanese defenders, including veteran units, machine-gun nests, pill boxes and even tanks. Victory is based on objectives and American Morale score, and game complications include lack of supplies and surprise Japanese reinforcements, so even on the edge of victory, it pays to be cautious. But with a time limit on every scenario, not too cautious. With five scenarios of increasing difficulty and complexity, Scream, Aim, Fire Pacific ! is a challenge you will have to rise to and a challenger that is always ready for you.

Fellow Tacticians and Tactites,

We get these questions. “Mark, I missed the Kickstarter. Can I still get a copy of OST V1 2nd Edition (Not a Reprint)?” The answer is a resounding “Yes!” You can pre-order your copy of the game through our late pledge site here. You can also get the Red Blitz expansion through the same location.

New to the system? Well, Old School Tactical (OST) Vol I is the game that started the Old School Tactical train rolling. With its huge maps, straightforward play, and realistic feel, the game was an instant hit. So much of a hit that it sold out. Sold out and was reprinted and then the reprint sold out. Now the OST Vol I NOT-A-REPRINT 2nd Edition is available through the pledge manager.

A Most Fearful Sacrifice is an epic two-player wargame with over 15 square feet of playing area (you don’t to use it all, if you don’t want to) and 526 playing pieces depicting the fighting that occurred during all three days of this decisive clash. The game utilizes a new ACW operating system called the Black Swan system, which is closely related to the popular Blind Swords game system similar to the game The Devil’s To Pay! by Tiny Battle Publishing. This version of the system is specifically designed to handle larger-scale battles yet keep rules overhead low. Players can simulate huge encounters in a reasonable amount of playing time. This is accomplished in one way through the use of card draws rather than chit pulls. Also, players will trigger activations by Corps instead of by lower-level formations but they still have tactical decision-making choices by needing to determine which Divisions get activation priority. Though at a grander scale, this system maintains a tactical feel about it and still emphasizes the three “FOW’s” of war … the Fortunes of War, the Friction of War and the Fog of War. Players will be challenged to deal with a constantly developing battle situation, never quite sure of what the Gods of War will throw at them, and thus they must always be prepared to deal with historically realistic “black swan” events. The Long Road is a World War III-themed, hex and counter wargame with paranormal elements. Based on the characters and events in Mark H. Walker’s Dark War series of novels (Revelation and Retribution), The Long Road depicts a Soviet push into West Germany. A push predicated by forces beyond their control. A push predicated by paranormal forces.

In many of the scenarios, gamers will take the role of a Soviet or NATO regimental or brigade commander, controlling platoons of 1985-era tanks, infantry, and weapons as they play through a story-driven campaign. In some of these scenarios the game’s artificial intelligence will control paranormal elements that directly impact the combatants and move the story forward. For example, a strange, otherworldly electrical storm that roams the battlefield, hampering electronics and limiting engagement ranges. Or perhaps a zombie horde of unknown origin that pours from a city, attacking American and Soviet soldiers alike.

In other scenarios, you will be able to directly control the strange forces as they either fight NATO/ Soviet soldiers or other paranormal entities. For instance, you might lead a Lycan clan ambushing a Soviet convoy, the unchanged clan members fighting with RPD/RPGs and assault rifles while their werewolf brethren assault with fang and claw. In another scenario vampires, with high-tech weaponry, battle Lycans to keep the Lycan from overrunning the vampire coven.

Crazy, right? But it’s done with a next-level iteration of the popular Platoon Commander system, in a way we hope pique’s wargamer’s interest. Make no mistake. The Long Road is a wargame, but a wargame with a twist.
