The Galaxy Expands in
Distant Worlds 2

New major expansion to sweeping 4X space strategy game
unveils two playable factions, the research-focused
Quameno and the ruthless Gizureans

The universe is bursting with life and excitement – and today, it just got even bigger. Distant Worlds 2: Factions – Quameno & Gizureans is available now on Steam, bringing two brand-new factions to the highly customizable, pausable real-time 4X space strategy game made by publisher Slitherine and developer CodeForce. The intellectual Quameno and aggressive Gizureans have a uniquely distinctive playstyle, featuring new units, buildings, government types, wonders, and storylines to discover.

Brain Power
The new factions in Distant Worlds 2: Factions – Quameno & Gizureans have vastly different approaches to interacting with – be it either understanding or conquering – the vast galaxies of Distant Worlds 2. The puzzle-loving Quameno focus on research, with their whole society aimed at unlocking the knowledge and mysteries of the universe. Trivial matters, such as trade, espionage, or even diplomacy, are only seen as distractions from their goal of research and intellectual prowess.
Unique buildings include the Enigma Maze to determine which Quameno is the smartest and most worthy to lead, while the singularity-triggering Transcendence Hub is a wonder that can free the Quameno from physical limits, allowing their research to continue through eternity.

All About Quantity
The Gizureans are vast both in numbers and in their hunger to consume the galaxy’s resources to keep their ever-expanding population happy. With a mysterious past, hinting at a once-whole hive mind from which only a limited shared consciousness remains, this aggressive faction engineers their ships with many fighters and special partially organic hex armor. The Gizureans focus on rapid growth and quantity over quality in space and ship combat, colony defense, and space station buildings.

The factions of Distant Worlds 2: Factions – Quameno & Gizureans bring their own specialized storylines and locations, expanding exploration and deepening the available events and galactic lore.

The Universe is Yours
Distant Worlds 2 is a customizable real-time 4X space strategy game with players able to pause at will. It is strategy re-imaged, with the depth and detail of a 4X game, joined to the simplicity and ease of a real-time title. Distant World 2’s powerful game editor lets players customize the experience to their heart’s content, from short intense games to universe-spanning conquests.
Discovery Update
The Distant Worlds 2: Factions – Quameno & Gizureans expansion follows the major Discovery Update, released in late August. A host of fixes and improvements have made their way into the game, from engine updates and expanded events to introducing Ancient Guardian Vaults and Pirate Cruisers, as well as a substantial expansion of the Hive Threat.

A Vast Universe
Huge galaxies populate Distant Worlds 2, with up to 2,000 star systems and tens of thousands of planets, moons, and asteroids for the player to explore and exploit. Each game is packed with life, activity, and events to experience. Embark on colonization, trading, and mining expeditions and interact with other factions through diplomacy or brutal conquest. No playthrough in Distant Worlds 2 will ever be the same, with player-customizable, varied galaxy setup options ensuring deep replayability.
