“The Prussians have come!” this statement was music to the ears of the Duke of Wellington at the battle of Waterloo. This addition to the Command & Conquer Napoleonic family is music to the ears of C & C fans. This long awaited Expansion completes the major players in the wars known as the Napoleonic Era. The Prussians were a military power in Europe from the time of Fredrick the Great. They were opposed to the French Revolution, and were active participants of the Fourth Coalition in 1806. After being soundly defeated by Napoleon, they returned to the opposition in 1813 which led to the abdication of Napoleon and his exile to Elba. After the Emperor’s return, they played a leading role in his final defeat at Waterloo, restoring the monarchy to France.

Ownership of the Base C & C Napoleonics set is required to accommodate the need for the Map, Card Deck and Dice to play the scenarios.

The new game mechanic in this expansion is the “Iron Will” counters. The Prussian Army was known for their Spartan-like discipline and obedience to orders. When the combat dice are rolled against Prussian units during the course of the game, the Prussian player my spend one of the “Iron Will” counters to ignore one of the flag results rolled against them. This will reduce the number of blocks removed from play during that turn, which can mean an additional French attack against that unit to clear a hex.

Terrain enhancement pieces include Castles or bastions, Churches, various field works, Marshes and Walled gardens. An additional sheet of Terrain Overlays was included to be substituted for those in the Austrians Expansion which were misprinted.

As I said above, this expansion rounds out the major players to the Napoleonic opposition during the early 19th century and is an essential addition to the complete C&C Napoleonic collection.
